A Message from our Head of School

On behalf of the Lowcountry Preparatory School Marlin community, it is my honor to welcome you to our school website.  It is with excitement and optimism that we embark on the 2024-2025 academic year, the school’s 29th year serving students and families in the Pawleys Island area of the South Carolina coast.

Lowcountry Prep is a place where meaningful connections, enriching experiences and a secure, supportive environment come together to create the ideal learning community.

Our commitment to cultivating meaningful connections between students, teachers and families is at the heart of everything we do.  We understand that these relationships form the foundation of a thriving educational experience, and we take great pride in nurturing a community where every individual feels valued and respected.  We invite you to listen to the perspective of Mrs. Lindsey Blomdahl, our Dean of Student Life, as she articulates the benefits of a meaningfully connected community.

Our curriculum is designed to provide enriching experiences that both challenge and inspire. Whether through academic excellence, artistic expression, athletic achievement, or community service, we encourage our students to explore their passions, take risks, and grow in ways that are both personally and intellectually rewarding. Our dedicated faculty and staff are here to guide and support each student on their unique journey, helping them discover their potential and achieve their goals.  We invite you to listen to Elizabeth Joseph, one of our recent graduates, as she shares how her experience at Lowcountry Prep inspired her to be a life-long learner.

We also recognize that a secure and supportive environment is essential for the growth and development of every student. At Lowcountry Prep, we are committed to creating a community rooted in honor where students feel both physically safe and emotionally supported.  Our school culture is built on the principles of integrity, compassion, and mutual respect, and we are dedicated to ensuring that every student has the opportunity to succeed in a nurturing environment that encourages curiosity and engagement. We invite you to listen to Stella Ford Dawson, an alum, and current parent, as she shares how she graduated with the tools and confidence to be successful in college and how her daughter is now experiencing the same at Lowcountry Prep.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our Marlin community.  We hope you find our ideal learning environment the place where your child can grow, learn and succeed.

Regards,

Wes Wehunt
