Choosing Lowcountry Preparatory School

We are committed to meeting the educational needs of our community in grades K5 through twelve.  We are STEM-certified and were recognized at the state level in April 2021 with the award of Nephron Pharmaceutical’s “Lou and Bill Kennedy STEM Award” for outstanding leadership in STEM education.  We offer a spectrum of Advanced Placement (AP) and honors courses.

Our teachers are effective. Consider scores on the Stanford 10 from the spring of 2019. The median score in first grade through ninth was overall 3.3 grade equivalents above grade level. Consider, also, recent college acceptances: the US Naval Academy, Brown University, Washington and Lee University, and Wake Forest in addition to fine colleges and universities across the state such as the honors colleges at both Clemson University and the University of South Carolina.

Our athletics program includes a full spectrum of sports in the fall, winter, and spring. It is organized under the South Carolina Independent School Association.

The key to our students’ success in the Lower School, Middle School, and Upper School is the size of the class, which is small. No student can hide in a small classroom, and teachers boost each student to perform to potential, whatever that potential is.

We are accredited by Cognia, an international organization that accredits 34,000 schools in 70 nations, and by the South Carolina Independent School Association, of which we are a member. We are also a member of the National Association of Independent Schools.

In our own words…What makes LPS “the Ideal Learning Environment”?

We are currently accepting application for admission to all grades. Admission to Lowcountry Preparatory School is offered year-round.
