A Message from our New Head of School

Dear Members of the Lowcountry Prep School Community,

It is my proudest professional moment to date to write to you today as the newly appointed Head of School at Lowcountry Prep. With excitement and optimism, I am eager to partner with the teachers, administrators, staff members and families to realize both the power of education and the ever-expanding impact resulting from service to others. Unified by the shared vision to provide the ideal learning environment for our children, we move forward, together.

As Lowcountry Prep progresses into its third decade, I am committed to building on the strengths of our school program and working collaboratively to address any challenges we may face. My daily focus will be to cultivate a secure and supportive school culture that is defined by meaningful connections and enriching experiences where all members of our community feel valued and appreciated. I believe that through our capacity to work together, we can ensure that our students receive an outstanding education where they understand that who they are is just as important as what they know. By educating both the head and the heart, nourishing both learning and character, we will prepare our graduates for college, for leadership, and for life.

I am grateful for the warm welcome that I have already received from the Marlin community and I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you in the coming weeks and months. My official start date is July 1st, but please do not hesitate to reach out to me now if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas that you would like to share.

Thank you for entrusting me with the responsibility of serving as your Head of School. We have exciting connections and experiences ahead as we work to fulfill the mission we share: to encourage our students to become informed, bold, resourceful, resilient, and ethical global citizens who are capable of shaping a changing world.

Regards,

Wes Wehunt
