Lowcountry Preparatory School believes that mastery of technology in our daily lives is critical to our students’ success.  From the moment students start their educational journey at Lowcountry Preparatory School, they are encouraged and required to utilize technology on a daily basis. In a fast-paced, high-tech world, it is important that we embrace technology in the learning process so that our students are competent and competitive.

In the Lower School, teachers often supplement their lessons through the use of Smart Boards and iPads.  Engaged students are learning students and teachers utilize technology whenever appropriate to unlock curiosity, encourage creativity and imagination. Students in grades four and five are issued iPads for use throughout the year. An iPad cart is available for grades kindergarten through third.

In the Middle and Upper Schools, teachers utilize technology on a daily basis in the classroom. Students bring a technology device to school daily for use throughout their instructional day.  Technology use may include:

  • conducting online research

  • writing research papers

  • taking notes

  • studying for tests

  • monitoring assignments and grades via our Student Information System (SIS)

  • conducting virtual labs in science class

  • producing instructional products

  • accessing learning platforms such as Google classroom

  • participating in instructional activities

Our students demonstrate their technology competency through competency-based observations and assessments.

Lowcountry Preparatory School is an independent, Judeo-Christian, International Baccalaureate, college preparatory school serving grades K3-12.
