Thank you, parents, students and members of the faculty and staff, who so diligently cleaned our campus on Saturday! The power washer, donated for the day by parents, was put to good use cleaning the exterior of the Lower School and the Middle and Upper School. That’s not all—the power washer deep-cleaned both the boys’ and the girls’ locker rooms. Seating in the gym was mopped out and cleaned, row by row. Donated labor by a certified electrician included the provision of power for an overhead projector in the fifth-grade room. Overhead vents, gray with collected dust, are now clean and white. Both the kindergarten room and the third-grade room now have requested shelving. Debris and clutter were removed from all buildings and taken to the local recycling center. Various records no longer required by law to be maintained were identified and set aside for proper destruction. Lockers were nicely cleaned out and labeled with students’ names. Blinds are now rid of their layers of dust accumulated over the past year. Carpets were removed, floors “Swiffered,” and carpets replaced. On Blue Stem Drive, our school sign was previously obscured by shrubbery—not any longer. The shrubbery is nicely trimmed and our sign plainly visible. The rapid disappearance of two “party pizzas” plus one “large” testified to the size of the crowd and the appetites generated by hard work. Thank you, again, all who turned out to put our campus into nice shape just in time for the start of Academic Year 2017-18. If the cleanup day was any omen, it will be a great year!
